Food and fun for the entire family!

Picture
Everyone is welcome to attend the St. Rocco - St. Anthony Society of Ishpeming's Italian Fest, regardless of their heritage.  Although this event is a way for Italian-Americans to follow the Italian tradition of honoring St. Rocco and St. Anthony, it is also a time for all of us to enjoy food, music and family.

The 114th Italian Fest is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Al Quaal Recreation Area with a day-long picnic.  There is no admission fee and many of the children's activities are offered free of charge.

Visitors can once again enjoy homemade Italian food cooked by the Valela sisters (Teresa Bertucci, Catherine Carlson, Clara Joseph and Mary Jacobson) which is to be sold at the society's food booth.  In addition, various vendors will be serving cudighis, Italian sandwiches, hot dogs, sno cones, ice cream novelties and much more.

Other highlights of Italian Fest include bingo, a greased pole ($100 prize), free pony rides, a large glide slide, Euro bungee jump, children's games, games of chance and several arts & crafts vendors.

Our musical entertainment for 2013 has not yet been finalized; however our tentative schedule is as follows:  from noon - 1:30 p.m. Ray & Dan Adamini will play throughout the park.  At 2:00 p.m. Soundz of Time with Jan and Gino will perform on stage until 4:00 p.m.  At 4:30 p.m. the Ishpeming Blue Notes, a local drum and bugle corps will play.  From 5:00-7:00 p.m.  the Diamanti band of Chicago, Illinois will perform classic contemporary Italian and American music.

We hope to see you there!
